Kamloops - South Thompson
I was born and raised in Switzerland and am a certified baker/pastry chef. I immigrated to Canada in 1989 and lived in Vancouver, Whistler and Pemberton before moving to Kamloops in 2002.
My wonderful wife and I have been married for 28 years and together we had one daughter who is now a journalist in Berlin. I've chosen not to acquire a driver's license and, instead, utilize public transit and my bicycle to get around.
I have worked for almost 40 years in my trade and have experienced first-hand the struggles of the working class. Like most other members of the proletariat, I have experienced declining wages, worsening working conditions, cuts to benefits and the fraying of the social safety net: precarious work has also become all-too familiar. Being an avid reader, who just can't pass by a used book store, has really helped develop my understanding of the revolutionary political change we should all be embracing.
Our Party has the only truly progressive platform. This election provides for us a great opportunity to bring our ideas to the public and build a truly left movement.
My community has so much potential, but, we need to stop answering to the needs of corporations, and start meeting the needs of people. I'm relishing every chance I get to meet with my fellow citizens who will finally have a chance to vote their conscience by supporting a truly progressive party, the Communist Party of BC.
